Legal Obligations & Social Responsibility

Americans with Disability Act (ADA) dictates that the employer must provide "reasonable accommodation" for employees regardless of disability.

Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act states that regardless of medium, government must ensure that disabled federal employees and members of the public have the same accessibility as non-disabled members. Where accessibility is not present, government is directed to provide alternative means.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act states that government must ensure that "no individual with a disability" in the United States shall…be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance or under any program or activity conducted by an Executive agency or by the United States Postal Service.
