World Trade Steel At Memorial

The memorial's design will also include an eternal flame and etched glass panels listing the names of those who lost their lives.

 

Steel beam C-46 was an exterior column panel formerly located in the South Tower, seven floors below where United Airlines flight 175 impacted on September 11, 2001. The National Institute of Standards and Technology studied C-46 as part of a federal investigation of the World Trade Center disaster.

The piece of steel is scheduled to depart from New York's JFK airport via truck on Thursday, December 2nd and arrive in Wellington, Florida on Saturday, December 4th. Residents are invited to track the steel's journey at www.wellingtonfl.gov.
