300 Toys To Children In Need
Wellington's Council and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office will visit Palms West Hospital on Thursday, December 23rd from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm to supply toys to the Kids Cancer Foundation and Palms West Hospital's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
"It's wonderful to see teenagers, adults and entire families wrapping presents for children who otherwise would not receive holiday gifts," said Stacy Somers, President of the Citizens Volunteer Organization (CVO). "This is truly what the Christmas spirit is all about."
Wellington's Safe Neighborhoods Office and CVO coordinated Wellington's Hometown Holiday Toy Drive with assistance from Walgreens, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, the Mall at Wellington Green, The Boys and Girls Club, the Wellington Chamber of Commerce and the Palms West Chamber of Commerce.
"In addition to helping children in Wellington, we also donated toys to children in Pahokee. The holiday season is all about helping our neighbors, and that's exactly what our residents are doing," said Mayor Darell Bowen.
