Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Outreach
Enrolling parents and guardians must bring proof of Florida residency, such as a valid driver’s license, utility bill or pay stub as well as proof of the child’s age, such as an original or certified birth certificate, passport or an immunization record signed by a licensed practicing physician. Parents will receive a certificate of eligibility to sign up their children for VPK at participating preschools.
VPK is designed to help Florida’s children to develop the skills they need to become good readers and successful students. It includes high literacy standards, appropriate curricula, strict accountability, manageable class sizes and qualified instructors, all free of charge. Parents are required to register in person to participate in the VPK program. For more information about VPK, please visit www.familycentral.org.
