Wellington Adds Morikami Museum Outreach to its Senior Programming Lineup
Japanese Calligraphy

Material Fee: $5 per person, paid in class
Learn three different Japanese art forms by using calligraphy! Participants will use Japanese brushes and ink to practice writing Japanese words and to produce a final piece of work. At the end of the class, the instructor will sign each participant’s name in Japanese.
Japanese Paper Craft (Origami)

Material Fee: $3 per person, paid in class
Learn this basic paper folding technique without using scissors or glue as well as the Japanese tradition of wrapping and gift giving. Participants will fold origami pieces and bring them home.
Participants are required to register for these classes at least 2 weeks in advance at the Wellington Community Center.
About the Morikami Museum - The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is the center for Japanese art and culture in South Florida, featuring rotating exhibits, tea ceremonies and traditional Japanese festivals. It chronicles the history of the Yamato colony, a Japanese farming community in South Florida 100 years ago.
