FREE DRINKING WATER QUALITY TESTING

  1. Live in Wellington year round
  2. Receive Wellington’s drinking water
  3. Own a single-family residence built between 1983 and 1987
  4. Be able to collect a single sample from an unfiltered sink tap

Sample collection is easy and analysis is free. Results provide valuable information about the drinking water lines and construction materials used in your home. The data is submitted to Florida Department of Health and used to make quality determinations about our drinking water.

If eligible, these are the steps you are required to take:

  1. Register to participate online at www.wellingtonfl.gov or contact Laurie Hand, Wellington Laboratory Technician, at (561) 791-4149 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
  2. Once a sampling pool has been determined, a bottle with collection instructions will be delivered to your home.
  3. Select either a kitchen or bathroom cold water tap (no samples through purification systems can be used).
  4. Collect a "first draw" sample on your designated day. This is a sample where the water has remained motionless in your lines for a minimum of 6 hours. Best times are first thing in the morning or just upon arrival home from work. No samples can be accepted after Friday 9/18/09.
  5. Complete the collection information sheet included in your sample kit and place outside your front door for collection. Or, you can return your sample to the Municipal Complex, 12300 Forest Hill Boulevard, Wellington.
