Citizens Volunteer Organization and Wellington Offer Hurricane Assistance for Residents in Need
In order to obtain assistance through this program, residents are asked to complete a Hurricane Helpers Application. Services such as grocery shopping for essentials, pre-hurricane clean up of yard, removal of debris post-hurricane, providing transportation to shelters and limited assistance with hurricane shutters are just some of the services provided. The CVO officers and the Neighborhood Revitalization Advocate will review all applications and make every effort to pair the person in need with a family currently participating in the Citizens Volunteer Organization. Should the CVO be unable to assist with a request, the individual will be contacted via telephone or email so that they can make alternative arrangements.
Please submit applications in June to receive assistance as quickly as possible. Applications can be found at www.wellingtonfl.gov under the CVO webpage or you can call (561) 791-HRWN (4796 – Helping Residents With Needs) and a staff person will assist you by filling out the form over the phone.
Hurricane Helpers is a program being offered to residents of Wellington to improve the community and enhance the quality of life and public safety.
