2012Palm Beach Community College and Wellington to discontinue lease talks
In a statement from the manager’s office Mr. Schofield said. "While everyone agrees that having Palm Beach Community College in Wellington is a worthwhile goal, differences in organizational expectations and changes in the economy have not allowed us to develop a mutually beneficial partnering that meets the needs of both the Village and the College. In a concurrent press release, Palm Beach Community College's President, Dr. Dennis Gallon, said "We have some overriding philosophical differences that have created a gap between what both sides want and can realistically deliver". Both administrators agree that the parting is cordial and that they will continue to work toward providing better service to Wellington and the surrounding communities.
Mr. Schofield will recommend that the workshop scheduled for today be canceled and that the lease be removed from future agendas.
